The THE, using data from French HR consultancy Emerging, ranked 250 universities from 42 countries, with employers voting for institutions in their own countries and internationally.
For this 14th edition of the ranking, 129,126 votes were collected from 13,240 operational and international managers across 33 countries, marking the largest sample to date.
A key takeaway from this year's ranking is the growing importance of work experience. Employers increasingly value graduates who have gained some practical work experience, besides graduate skills and digital mindset. Around 46% of employers emphasize the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends, while 45% value collaboration skills like communication and teamwork.
Seeta Bhardwa, Editor of THE Student, said: "Employers are looking for a wide range of skills in new graduates including digital skills, work experience and social awareness and it is interesting to see that universities across the globe are expanding their programs and initiatives to meet these needs. While the U.S. and U.K. remain strong in this table, the increased presence of Asian and mainland European universities is encouraging to see."
Alongside schools in the U.S. and the U.K., France, Germany, and China are among the best-represented countries in the ranking.
The two top Chinese universities are Peking University, at 11th place, and Tsinghua University at 19th.
Universities from Asia are becoming more prominent, with 52 institutions making the list, three more than last year.
